If you are interested in joining our THAS family and being added to our waitlist, please read the following updates.
Due to the high volume of inquiries this year, we have rethought our policy on our wait lists. We want to give everyone the opportunity to experience the love that beloved Aussies give, however, we only produce so many puppies a year. We are NOT a PUPPY MILL!!! Starting Jan. 1, 2021, we will have ONE WAIT LIST. We are still honoring the requests of those already on specific lists from 2020, however, buyers placed on our 2021 waitlists will be placed on the one list with preferences considered. This list will be in order of deposits received. We want all of our puppy buyers to be happy, but please understand this is a process, and sometimes it can take up to a year of waiting on desired puppy if wanting a specific look. Our Merle patterned puppies are in high demand and go FIRST! There are only so many merle puppies born per litter and only so many litters per year.
Another issue we had to resolve was that of tail docking requests. In the past we have allowed buyers to request to have their puppy's tail remain long in attempt to fully satisfy our buyers. However, we felt that this violated our promise to follow the AKC (American Kennel Club) standard, which for Australian Shepherds demands that tails must be docked! We also felt that this could potentially give opportunity for buyers to "cheat" our waitlist. Since our puppies have to have their tails removed at 3 days old, it was posing a problem of having to reorder our waitlist according to these preferences. We do not believe any of our previous buyers ever had this intent, however, as a professional I decided to avoid any kind of accusation of unfairness due to this issue.
Our goal is to place our puppies in forever, loving homes; this is our top priority here at Tennessee Hills Australian Shepherds. Thank you for working with us and being patient. We appreciate each and everyone of our buyers, as well as our THAS fans! Looking forward to what the New Year brings!
